GCI performed a full building restoration and repositioning to turn an old auto body shop into a state-of-the-art community healthcare clinic. In order to preserve historic elements of the building, the Architect and GCI had to get creative, working around large steel beams and original brick to create the clinic and adjoining non-profit workspace. Bright and airy patient rooms, multiple lobbies, a large employee meeting space, and a sleek mezzanine were all crafted within the historic structure.
All new electrical, fire, sewer and water line services were installed and seismic and structural upgrades performed, with two new elevators established to connect the clinic and office space. The result is a one-of-a-kind environment that is as welcoming to patients as it is to the employees working on their behalf.
