DETAILS

This completed space acts as a showcase for Quirky,  promoting its mission of making invention accessible to the public.  The key elements of the project, built within a fast-track schedule, included the installation of a fixed-axis CNC machine, two industrial-grade 3D printers, an injection molder, an electrical engineering lab, and a full prototyping wood shop: tools to build products from scratch.  With limited base building power, the team designed a code compliant switch to transfer power between the Reflow Oven, CNC Machine, and Roboshot to work within budget and schedule.

The space buildout also included new rooftop mechanical equipment with associated structural upgrades, a new elevator, feature staircase, mezzanine bridge, office and breakout space, security infrastructure to accommodate the new building use, and the full buildout of two sets of restrooms.
